What it can see
Nothing is polled: content is read when you connect and each time you save a selection, plus whenever Sync now is used.
Choosing folders and drives
The picker groups what the account shares under the drive it belongs to:
The picker is two levels deep — drive, then folder — and does not show a nested folder tree.
Each drive keeps its own checkbox, because ticking a drive means read all of it, including folders added later — a promise no combination of folder ticks makes. A selected drive is therefore counted apart from the folders (3 of 27 selected · 1 drive), and the notice above the list says so: everything in that drive is read including folders added later, while anything outside it is not.
Groups collapse individually. A search force-expands them so a hit can never hide behind a collapsed group, and it matches a folder’s name, its description, and the drive it is in; a drive whose own name matches keeps all of its folders.
The rest of the picker — the three selection states, Save and sync, Refresh, Sync now — is the shared behaviour described in Choosing what a connection reads. Drive’s widen-again button reads Read everything, now and later, which is not “every folder”: it is the whole of My Drive plus every shared drive the account can see.
Disconnecting
Google Drive is the one connector whose disconnect can also remove what it brought in. The confirmation offers Also delete what Cognee learned from it — Removes this connection’s dataset from the workspace. Nothing changes in Google Drive itself. It is unticked by default, and ticking it turns the confirm button into Disconnect and delete.Gmail is not offered as a data source. Google Drive’s card appears only where the deployment has been given Drive credentials; elsewhere it reads Google Drive is not switched on here yet.
